I am very hopeful for 2025, with my personal word for this year being growth. I hope to grow in many ways: to become more mature in my relationships, bolder in my creativity and self-expression, more determined in my decision-making, and more willing to put myself out there. I also hope to heal and finally let go for good of any past wounds,
In this blog post, I’ll share 10 key resolutions for 2025. While I have many more goals—some far more detailed-, these are the ones that matter most to me this year.
My 10 key resolutions for 2025
1) Discover and establish my creative identity. In the age of social media, the hardest thing seems to be to just be yourself without imitating others. I’ve found myself being affected by online writers and this has influenced my writing as well. I overthink things, I try to follow certain rules and formats, I stress over the keywords. Well, I don’t like that, and it makes me feel less like a creator. So, in 2025 I’d really like to explore my creative side, experiment with writing, and unapologetically be my creative self with less overthinking and second-guessing.
2) Write 100k words. So, I’ve dreamed of writing 100.000 words in a year since 2020. I haven’t managed to do it yet, but last year I got the closest ever, finishing 2024 with almost 69.000 words. I believe that this year I’ll finally be able to achieve this goal. There are various writing projects I’ve been working on such as blog posts, social media content, short stories, fanfictions, and even some novel writing – but more on that later.
3) Nurture the relationships I have with my partner and friends. Finally, there are relationships in my life that make me feel loved, worthy, and help me grow and become a better person. I don’t want to take them for granted, and I’d like to consciously work on them this year. So, I’d like to spend much quality time with my loved ones, have meaningful conversations to get to know deeper each other, be open, honest and vulnerable with them, and even compromise when it’s needed.
4) Write the first 10 chapters of my novel. Writing my very first novel has been my top resolution for a while. The idea has been in my head forever, but the goal and the entire process feel so daunting (just to be completely honest) that I never get too far So, I thought of trying to set a less intimidating goal for me this year since it’d help me get started and make progress without having the final result in mind yet – if that makes sense. To be honest, I haven’t done a single thing yet regarding that, but I plan to begin brainstorming and working on my characters this month. I’ll keep you updated.
5) Embark on a wellness journey. This year, I’d like to take care of both my physical and mental health. My well-being is much more important to me than it used to be, and this is something that makes me happy. So, in 2025 I’d like to be more active, stretch regularly, and eat a little healthier. Moreover, I’d like to care for my emotional well – being by journaling, meditating, and always remembering to take the time to unwind after each day – especially while I’m still at my current job.
6) Work on my confidence. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for ourselves. I’ve always admired confident people – those who dare to go after their dreams, navigate any social situation with ease, and have fully certainty about themselves and where they want to go. I didn’t use to be a confident person, but I’ve been working on it since 2023, and my self-esteem has improved. Confidence is something I’d like to work on even more this year. I’d like to believe more in myself and limit self-doubting. I have improved the way I stand up for myself and how I approach strangers, but there’s still room to grow. I plan to strengthen my confidence through journaling, affirmations, and deepening my self-awareness.
7) Continue my healing journey. My healing journey began in 2023, and still goes on, as I’ve been through a lot of emotional pain in my personal life. I had to rebuild myself and life in many ways before being actually able to process things that I needed healing from. Later this year, I plan to put my healing on the focus with shadow work and deep reflection.
8) Complete the Spanish tree on Duolingo. I’ve been learning Spanish on Duolingo for a really long time. I’m not even sure since when, but probably since 2020 – with breaks in between. In the meantime, the UI has gone through many changes, shifting units and sections around. I had the same goal in 2024, but I obviously didn’t make it, so this year I’m just continuing my progress. I feel hopeful because I’m currently on section 7 Unit 32/36, and, as for now, the units are 9 overall.
9) Prioritize blogging more. Besides this blog, I run another one in Greek, and I also post my writing on Medium. I’d like to focus more on my blogging goals this year, and especially the second half of it because this is when I’ll be out of my current job that takes too much of my time and energy. I’d like to write more and get myself out there and even build a community- no matter how small or big it is.
10) Find things to be passionate about. So, this is my last big resolution for 2025. I’d truly like to find things I’m passionate about: hobbies, books, movies, series – you name it. I’ve noticed that as I get older, this feeling of excitement happens less often, and constant exposure to social media doesn’t seem to help. I miss that sense of passion and inspiration, and I hope to reignite it this year.
So, these are my 10 most important resolutions for 2025. What are yours? Feel free to share them in the comments!
Thank you for reading and for being here.
I appreciate you.
